Documents recorded in the Recorder's Office include several different types of records including but not limited to:
deeds, mortgages, surveys, liens, subdivision plats, bond assignments and military discharges, also referred to as DD-214 forms.
I've led large departments that directly interacted with the public, and worked with other departments to provide service and
plan for the future.
It is the primary duty of the Recorder's Office to record instruments submitted for secure recording and maintain those records for perpetuity.
I have extensive technology skills. At the City Clerk's office, as Records Archivist, I converted public records with all addenda to electronic form, which I put into a searchable database that the public could access.
The Recorder's Office makes those documents available to the public including businesses.
My business degree from Indiana University
directly relates to this office.
Your Monroe County Recorder should be a person who is good with the public and staff, who is highly organized and a hard worker, and one who has proven integrity when dealing with
public funds.
